| For the last four years El Grupo
Manglar has been proposing to 3 levels of government the construction of a
bicycle path from the Conchal bridge at the entrance to San Blas to
Matanchen Bay. This narrow stretch of road is extremely dangerous
for the oyster fisherman and others who commute by bike. A bicycle path
would solve this problem and also benefit tourism by allowing the tourists
to pedal safely out to Matanchen and from there out to Las Islitas or
along the beach to Los Cocos.
The plan had been approved but with the advent of Hurricane Kenna it was put on hold until more funds could be obtained. |
